It does vary from project to project and budget to budget, but generally-speaking, we take the following steps:

Normally we take a mobile-first approach, but regardless, responsive design for mobile devices is a standard practice in all the websites we create. Ensuring that your website looks and functions flawlessly across various devices, including smartphones, tablets, and desktops, is a top priority. With responsive design techniques, your website will adapt seamlessly to different screen sizes and orientations, providing an optimal user experience for all visitors, regardless of the device they’re using.

We specialize in creating versatile websites, including those with e-commerce functionality. Whether you’re looking to sell products, services, or digital goods online, we can integrate robust e-commerce solutions seamlessly into your website. From setting up product catalogs and secure payment gateways to managing inventory and order processing, we’ll ensure that your e-commerce platform meets your specific needs and helps drive sales effectively.

Occasionally we do help clients leverage tools such as Wix and Squarespace to create sites because there are some pros to that approach (e.g., if you prefer a ready-made templates).  That said, we more frequently go with a custom-built solution using WordPress for these reasons:

   • With a custom-built website, you have complete control over the design, functionality, and features of your site. Unlike Wix or Squarespace, which offer templates with limited customization options, a custom website allows you to tailor every aspect to suit your unique brand identity and business requirements.

   • Custom-built websites are more scalable and adaptable to your business’s growth. As your needs evolve, you can easily integrate new features, functionalities, and third-party services into your custom website, ensuring it continues to meet your business goals.

3. Ownership and Control:

   • With a custom-built website, you own the code and have full control over your website’s data and hosting environment. This means you’re not locked into a specific platform or subject to their terms and conditions. You have the freedom to move your website to any hosting provider or web developer and make changes without restrictions.

4. Unique Brand Identity:

   • A custom-built website allows you to create a truly unique and memorable online presence that sets you apart from competitors. While Wix and Squarespace templates may be used by multiple businesses, a custom design ensures your website reflects your brand’s personality, values, and aesthetic preferences.

5. Limited Monthly Fees:

   • Normally with Wix/SquareSpace you pay $20 a month or more to use their platform.  Our hosting costs less than half of that per month for most websites, so you can save money over the long-term not using Wix/Squarespace, especially if you are willing to perform updates yourself, which with proper training are easy to do.
